Jumper C-FLEX: compact, solder-ready flexible PCB jumpers

Replace bulky cable looms and connectors with thin, robust C-FLEX jumpers. Manufactured in our MMAB plant (Malmö, Sweden), C-FLEX offers Kapton® polyimide insulation, precision-reduced copper fingers and catalog options in 1.27 mm (CF1) and 2.54 mm (CF2) pitches — or fully customized layouts to fit your integration needs.

What is Jumper C-Flex?

The C-FLEX Jumper is a high-performance flexible interconnection system engineered to electrically link two or more printed circuit boards (PCBs) with minimal space, weight, and assembly complexity.

Unlike conventional wire harnesses or rigid connectors, the C-FLEX Jumper is a flat, laminated circuit composed of parallel copper conductors encapsulated between layers of Kapton® polyimide insulation, forming a thin, lightweight, and exceptionally durable flexible element.

Its low-mass architecture and controlled geometry provide outstanding reliability under vibration, thermal cycling, and mechanical stress, making it the preferred choice for aerospace, defense, transportation, and industrial electronics where stability, precision, and endurance are paramount.

Manufactured by ICAPE MMAB, the ICAPE Group’s European PCB facility in Malmö, Sweden, each C-FLEX Jumper is built with tight dimensional tolerances and traceable material control. The result is a product that combines mechanical flexibility, electrical integrity, and solder-ready precision.

Manufacturing & Logistics : European quality and responsiveness

The Jumper C-FLEX range is designed and produced by MMAB, ICAPE Group’s PCB manufacturing plant located in Malmö, Sweden.

This in-house European production ensures total control of every process stage, from raw-material sourcing to final inspection, guaranteeing consistent quality, electrical reliability, and short delivery times.

ICAPE MMAB,  specializes in high-reliability printed circuit boards and flexible circuits for demanding markets such as industrial automation, aerospace, and defense.

Each jumper benefits from:

  • In-process dimensional inspection (pitch accuracy, conductor spacing, and thickness tolerance within ±0.025 mm).
  • Automated optical inspection (AOI) of conductor integrity and insulation alignment.
  • 100 % electrical testing for continuity and isolation before shipment.
  • Traceable batch coding for full process history, ensuring reliability in mission-critical applications.

The flexible structure (copper conductors laminated to 25 µm Kapton® with a modified acrylic adhesive) is heat-bonded and profiled by precision tooling, delivering a uniform, stable product that withstands vibration, thermal cycling, and humidity without delamination.

Process integration and customization

Because the entire production chain is internal to ICAPE MMAB, engineers can co-design the layout to meet exact mechanical constraints:

  • Custom conductor width or thickness (70 µm – 250 µm).
  • Shaped or bent termination fingers for automated soldering.
  • Special pitches, folding geometries, or asymmetric lengths for compact PCB stacks.
  • Tailored surface finishes (ENIG or Bright Tin) compatible with wave and hot-air soldering.

This flexibility allows designers to move directly from prototype to series production with no outsourcing delays or quality uncertainty.

Short lead times and reliable logistics

Manufacturing in Sweden brings European-level supply-chain responsiveness:

  • Short lead times : catalogue items available from stock; custom jumpers produced within days.
  • Fast delivery across Europe through ICAPE Group’s logistics network.
  • Reduced carbon footprint thanks to localized manufacturing and minimized transport distances.
  • Single-source responsibility : design, production, quality, and logistics handled by one group.

Every C-FLEX batch ships with a certificate of conformity and traceable production lot number, ensuring compliance with ICAPE Group’s quality management standards and the customer’s documentation requirements.

Backed by ICAPE Group’s global strength

As part of ICAPE Group, a global provider of PCBs and technical parts with over 25 years of experience, MMAB benefits from:

  • A network of technical centers and logistics hubs worldwide.
  • Centralized support for engineering, quotations, and after-sales service.
  • ISO-certified quality systems aligned with ICAPE’s global standards.
  • Sustainable manufacturing practices and continuous improvement programs.

This integration guarantees that Jumper C-FLEX combines the agility of European production with the reliability of a global industrial group.

A C-FLEX Jumper is designed to connect two or more printed circuit boards (PCBs) using a thin, flexible laminated circuit. It replaces bulky cables or rigid connectors, saving space while maintaining high electrical and mechanical reliability.

It consists of parallel copper conductors laminated between Kapton® polyimide insulation layers, bonded with a modified acrylic adhesive. This structure ensures high flexibility, heat resistance, and long-term durability under vibration or thermal stress.

C-FLEX Jumpers are available in two standard pitches: 1.27 mm (CF1) and 2.54 mm (CF2), with 2 to 60 conductors and multiple standard lengths ranging from 12.7 mm to 101.6 mm. Custom dimensions and layouts are also available upon request.

Two high-quality finishes are offered: ENIG (Electroless Nickel Immersion Gold) for maximum corrosion resistance and solderability, and Bright Tin, an economical and effective alternative for standard applications.

Each conductor can carry up to 2.5 A, with a voltage rating of up to 1500 V. These values depend on conductor width, copper thickness, and ambient temperature conditions.

The jumper uses Cu-A1 copper for conductors and Kapton® polyimide film as insulation. This combination provides high electrical conductivity, flexibility, and resistance to chemicals and humidity.

C-FLEX Jumpers are ideal for aerospace, defense, railway, industrial automation, and embedded electronics applications where space savings, weight reduction, and reliability under stress are essential.

All C-FLEX Jumpers are produced in Malmö, Sweden, by MMAB, a manufacturing subsidiary of ICAPE Group. European production ensures full traceability, quality control, and short lead times for standard and custom designs.

Compared with conventional wiring, the C-FLEX Jumper offers a thinner profile, lighter weight, improved vibration resistance, and simplified assembly. It provides a solder-ready, fully traceable interconnect solution with higher reliability.
