Building a responsible and sustainable future
At ICAPE Group, we see sustainability as the foundation of long-term performance. Every decision, from energy sourcing to supply chain management, is guided by our commitment to reduce our environmental footprint and create positive social impact.
In recent years, this commitment has translated into tangible results: major investments in clean energy, measurable reductions in CO₂ emissions, stronger partnerships for responsible innovation, and initiatives that empower both employees and communities.
Below is a look at the key milestones shaping our journey toward a more sustainable future.
Clean energy and environmental performance
Our operations in South Africa illustrate this ambition: a €1.4 million investment in 588 solar panels now covers 50% of ICAPE Trax factory’s energy needs, with surplus power sold back to the grid.
Renewable energy already accounts for 8% of the consumption in South Africa, and our goal is to keep reducing dependence on fossil fuels currently 80% coal).
In 2024, ICAPE Group achieved a 13.2% reduction in its total carbon footprint, reaching 132,000 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent.
Scope 1 emissions decreased by 14.5%
Scope 3 emissions decreased by 13.4%
Scope 2 emissions increased slightly due to the expansion of our operations
We also maintained zero environmental incidents involving hazardous waste and increased the number of ISO 14001–certified supplier factories to 79% (+14.5% versus 2023)
To reinforce transparency, carbon footprint data is now included directly on all quotes and orders, allowing customers to make informed, sustainable choices.
Innovation and responsible supply chain
At our Trax factory in South Africa, Takunda Kondo and his R&D team are leading initiatives to reduce electronic waste and improve the circularity of our products. Their work reflects ICAPE Group’s broader goal of embedding environmental innovation directly into production.
This commitment extends beyond the factory floor. Our logistics operations have been streamlined for efficiency and sustainability, reducing the number of warehouses from nine to four and prioritizing sea freight over air transport, a shift that lowers CO₂ emissions by up to 22 times for small packages. We’ve also introduced sea–air solutions to balance carbon reduction with delivery speed.
Our approach to collaboration is equally dynamic. During GreenTech Days 2024 – Catalysts for Change, ICAPE Group brought together leading EMS, OEM, and sustainability innovators to foster responsible electronics development. Partners included:
Jiva – recyclable, biodegradable PCB materials
Shengyi – low-carbon laminates
Elephantech – eco-friendly surface treatments
DHL – green logistics solutions
PaperShell – bio-based packaging alternatives
These partnerships and innovations accelerate our transition toward a circular, low-carbon electronics industry, while ensuring that responsibility and performance advance together.

These actions earned ICAPE Group the EcoVadis “Committed” badge, an ESG rating of 73 (Excellent), and demonstrate our CSRD readiness, with implementation already underway to meet future European reporting requirements.

Electric Fleet
Across Europe and Asia, we’ve built a culture of responsibility that goes far beyond our products. From implementing a 100% electric company fleet to providing free EV charging stations for all employees at our offices, we’re committed to reducing our environmental footprint. Give Back Day
With Give Back Day, ICAPE Group turns values into action. Once a year, employees across the world step away from their desks to contribute to local environmental and social causes like cleaning rivers, supporting youth programs, or helping those in need. This initiative not only benefits communities but also reinforces a deep sense of purpose within our teams, reminding us that sustainability is most powerful when it’s lived and shared together.
Foundation
The ICAPE Planète Bleue Foundation amplifies our global impact through action, education, and collaboration. At the heart of its work lies Magie Bleue, a legendary schooner restored by the Foundation and transformed into a sailing ambassador. It serves as a platform for educational programs, environmental research, and community outreach, connecting people to the ocean and its fragile balance.
Beyond its voyages, the Foundation supports youth education initiatives and local environmental projects in France and abroad, fostering a collective commitment to protect our planet. More than a philanthropic effort, ICAPE Planète Bleue embodies our belief that awareness begins with experience, and that by bringing people closer to nature, we inspire lasting respect and responsibility for it.
