Metal

CIPEM provides a wide range of metal parts for different application and sectors.
Our metal partner are specialized in different technology and mainly focus on Stamping parts, Heatsink and Extruded parts.
Heatsink and other Heat dissipation solution are used to dissipate the heat generated by an electronic or mechanical device.
Why is a heatsink so important?
A computer's CPU (central processing unit) and GPU (graphics processing unit) generate a lot of heat. Without a heatsink, both units would get too hot to operate. If not managed, the heat they generate would also affect the other components' ability to operate, and the whole computer insides would cease to function or simply melt together eventually. Heatsinks are not only important for CPUs and GPUs, but they are also necessary for the operation of high-power semiconductors such as power transistors and optoelectronics such as lasers and LEDs.
The heatsink acts as a passive exchanger that transfers the heat to the adjacent fluid, usually air or liquid coolant, where it is dispersed away from the heat-generating component, keeping its temperature at optimal operating levels. If you have taken apart as computer, you may have noticed that the heatsink is usually made out of copper or aluminum. Copper is an excellent conductor of heat, that is, heat passes through it with a low temperature rise. Aluminum is used when less weight and cost is important.

The following table is a brief summary of CIPEM Metal Heatsink mechanical & protection capabilities.

The added value of Chromatation process is that this surface treatment favour the conductivity of the part whereas the Anodized layer becomes electrically non-conductive.
